There’s a quiet beauty in the stories of Purana, they don’t just speak of gods in distant heavens, but of relationships, love, and the subtle ways the Divine chooses to be close to us.
In the Bhargava Purana, we encounter one such gentle yet profound story.
Sage Marichi, the mind-born son of Brahma, was blessed with a rare boon that the Divine Mother herself would be born as his daughter, and that Ganesha would one day become his son-in-law.
Now, if that doesn’t make you pause for a second… it should.
Soon, a Shankhu (conch shell) appeared before him; silent, sacred, and full of mystery. From it emerged a radiant girl, named Vallabha, also known as Siddha Lakshmi. Not born in the usual way, but revealed like many truths in Tantra, which arrive when the seeker is ready.
In time, she was united in marriage with Sri Ganesha, who came to be known as Vallabhesa; the beloved of Vallabha, or Vallabha Ganapati (Maha Ganapati).
But the story doesn’t stop there.
Vishnu and Lakshmi offered their twelve daughters; each representing auspicious qualities like joy, beauty, grace, and abundance in marriage to Ganesha.
Names like Moda and Pramoda (joy and delight), Mangala (auspiciousness), and Kamada (wish-fulfilling) are not just characters… they are states of being.
And here lies the deeper Ganesha Mantra insight.
Ganesha is not merely a remover of obstacles.
He is the one who harmonises life itself, bringing together prosperity, joy, wisdom, and fulfillment into a single, balanced presence.
In the subtle wisdom of Tantra, this speaks not of many marriages, but of the Divine manifesting wholeness across all realms of existence.
It is said that worshipping Ganesha on sacred Krishna Chaturthi, brings all the blessings. But perhaps the real invitation is simpler, and more intimate.
To let his name rest gently on our lips…
To allow his presence to quietly settle in our thoughts…
And if, as you read this, you feel a soft pull toward that presence like a remembrance rather than something new, then you’re already closer than you think.
Some journeys are easier when walked together, and our Tantra circle: https://shorturl.at/6gxgH is simply a space where that remembrance deepens, one step, one mantra, one shared experience at a time
